Pitti Uomo Firenze is one of the most fashionable events at international level for menswear, accessories and for launching new products of men’s fashion; born in 1972, Pitti Uomo takes place in Florence twice a year, the edition of 2015 is the 88th and ended last Friday.
Pitti Uomo has been often compared to the most spectacular international Fashion Weeks, but it actually has some unique peculiarities: protagonists are not so much designers but brands and their last clothes, ready for the next season.
Pitti Uomo is an event reserved to professionals: this year the exhibitors were 1.150, among them 460 come from abroad. It is famous also for its collateral events: fashion shows, exhibitions, installations by designers and brands that occupy various areas of the city.
Among the different thematic areas of this year edition there is also Open, the new project of Pitti Immagine dedicated to collections that aim at going beyond the separate concepts of masculine and feminine, with the new “hybrid” and unisex clothes. Pitti Uomo pays attention as usual to emergent designers as well with the contest “Who is next?”, that rewards every year a new young stylist.
SocialMeter followed the event on Twitter and monitored what users said on it thanks to the keywords #pittiuomo, #pu88, @Pitti_Immagine. The hashtag #pittiuomo was the most frequent one: 84% against 16% for #pu88.
Since now more than 15.000 tweets and 2.700 images have been collected, published by more than 6.000 users localized mainly in Italy, United States and Spain; a particular intensity of the talken-about has been registered on Tuesday the 16th at 16.00. The most occurring hashtags in tweets are, besides the official ones, #moschino, #fashion, #firenze, #pitti88, #florence, #fashion, #pittipeople, #ss16, #menswear. The accounts that twitted most are @Pitti_Immagine, @Moschino, @ITSJEREMYSCOTT, @ledFlorence (the international advanced formative network in design, fashion, visual communication, management), @Diadoraofficial, @AccademiaGalli (Belle Arti Aldo Galli Academy offers advanced formation in visual arts, restoration, fashion design).
